Had a nice day in flat calm weather picking off decent yellowtail. A lot of yo-yo work but a bite was a decent fish

The wahoo made a little show today as we picked up a sample of them on the way down this morning .

Good morning all .First day out on another 8 day trip .

Nice yo-yo bite on 20 lb yellowtail this morning.

It wasn’t wide open but plenty of opportunity.

Started off the morning with excellent fishing on good grade tuna.
Started to get bit off by wahoo so we pulled anchor and got the trollers out.
Immediately started scratching away at them.
We thought we had the troll jackpot settled but Ted Delacruz just harvested this 72.5lber.
Terry Kitahara landed this monster weighing in at 76lbs! New leader for the trolling jacket.

Had a memorable day on the ridge.
We got to experience both quality and quantity on dorado, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna.
Displayed is a 62lb wahoo on a Nomad rigged with fluorocarbon instead of wire.
Steady action this afternoon on straight premium grade yellowfin.
Clean fishing and easy to get a bite.

We got stopped short of our destination by wahoo and dorado.
After kelp fishing we got the anchor down and started picking away at these quality yellowfin into the dark.

We had a great first day , with wahoo and real nice tuna in the afternoon. The wind picked up and made trolling for wahoo challenging.

First day out on the Point South 8 day trip. .weather window looks good and headed to the ridge. We will be arriving tomorrow morning after a day of wahoo rigging and travel

We had an excellent day on 35 to 60lb to finish off our trip at the island.
Steady action throughout the day.
We will be on the beach looking for yellowtail and rockfish in the morning.

Decent fishing this morning with some heavy losses. Randy forced this one to the boat. Yesterday was slow all day but managed to land the majority of the few bites we did land.

When fishing the island we’ve found on days with no to little current a long rod is very helpful in getting a bait out. Calstar 100j matched with a Accurate Valiant 500 pictured here has been working great.

Good fishing at the island today. Steady action in the morning on 40 to 60lbers. Later on it slowed down but the ones we hooked were larger models.

Got a nice start at the island today.
Took us a while to get situated due to windy conditions.
Ended up with good action on 40 to 60lb fish. Looking forward to tomorrow.

We left on Thursday on our annual Sonny Jones 8 day and fished offshore for the last day and half. Scratched up a few yellowfin through the waves of skipjack and now we are island bound.
