The 1.5 day started with a night bite! Fish are biting! Nice tender bluefin Tunas! Size on the bluefin tuna are getting bigger! Come fish with Captain Andrew Cates!

A great surprise on really good fishing today. long drifts on good grade yellows. After lunch it got pretty uncomfortable with the wind and chop. We headed up into the island of Cedros for dinner and got ready for Panga fishing for the following day.

Nice day of variety on the Ridge. The wahoo thing was tough with the choppy windy seas but anchor fishing was great. A mix of tuna, yellowtail, dorado and a couple of wahoo.

We had a real nice day on quality yellows today. From daylight to late afternoon. Long drifts with Yo Yo action and flyline. Really nice weather to make a lovely day.

Picked at Yellows today and settled up a daily Jack Pot. Windy conditions last night and today set us back a little but still manage to stay busy.

Excellent tuna fishing today on the ridge. Very busy afternoon with wide open fishing. Headed up to try for Yellows and Dorado tomorrow. Windy conditions all day and windy as we head up. Ugh!!!

Finished off the 7 day trip with a nice finisher on 100 plus pound fish to settle the Jackpot. Larry Brown led the charge on a great 7 day trip.

Had a quick stop this morning for a few cod . Weather is up and has been choppy . Looks like 6:30 at the dock if things lay down a bit. Charlbait trip was a huge success . Thanks guys for a great trip

Our offshore effort was busy but never found the big we were looking for. Jig strikes on decent yellowfin but too much small dorado to get the tuna through them.
We had a great day of fishing on the anchor for nice bluefin and a few nice yellows. Choppy weather but sure nice anchored up.
Good action on yellows this morning with some nice fish mixed in. Windy but manageable. Hoping we can pick all day.

Had a nice fishing. We caught and released a variety of fish with Yellowtail, Calico bass and White seabass. Definitely a different style of fishing. Nice experience for the guys.

Nice to have flat calm weather today. We worked up the coast paddy hopping for a few dorado and yellowtail. Ended the trip before dinner to enjoy Mike’s Prime Rib dinner as we head home.
Aug. 5, 2023Not much to report in our travels yesterday. Fished Calico bass on the beach as we worked up staying out of the wind and seas. Looking offshore today with flat calm conditions.
Aug. 4, 2023We had a nice morning before the wind came up. Picking at nice grade yellows with lots of releasing smaller grade fish. Great action until after lunch time.

Spent the day fishing up the beach.
Mark picked off this nice 41.2 pound yellowtail.
Some other yellowtail but mostly throwbacks throughout the day.
Looks like we will be in position for Rock Cod tomorrow before we head home.

Had a long night for very little sign. A nice drift on smaller grade fish. 25 to 35 pounds greeted us first thing in the morning. Nice weather on the beach as we made our way up to the Island for tonight. Picked off a few Yellows on kelps on our journey up this afternoon.
